Mission and Justice

Geist Christian Church is committed to identifying and addressing the needs of those whom Jesus called the least, the last, and the lost. Throughout the year, members of Geist Christian Church, embody the hands and feet of God, as they support a variety of non-profit organizations in the local, national, and international communities. Our hope is to co-create God’s kingdom here on earth as we seek creative solutions to the problems that plague those who struggle to secure life’s basic needs.

Fall 2024 Service Projects

Food Pantry Partner @ Promise Road

Join the team and become a Food Pantry Partner at Promise Road!  Sign the pledge to bring back your bag full of groceries for the food pantry at least once a month.

November and December’s most needed items are any and all non-perishable food items.

For more information, contact Michelle Latty at Michelle.Latty@geistchristian.org.

Season of Giving

For many years, the church has provided a bag of non-perishable food along with a turkey and fresh produce to local families in need. This year, we will assist 120 families in the Thanksgiving season. Food bag pick-up begins October 27 and is due by November 17. In addition to food donations, we need drivers to deliver to families on Saturday, November 23. For more information, contact Michelle Latty at Michelle.Latty@geistchristian.org.

Long John Sunday—November 17

To combat the colder weather, Geist Christian Church is looking for new sets of long underwear for the Fishers/Indianapolis at-risk population. A thermal set of tops and bottoms are gifts to the folks most in need during these cold winter months. We recommend that the sets be large or extra large (better too big than too small). Men’s, women’s, and children’s sets are all acceptable. Donations will be accepted at both campuses on Sunday, November 17.

Recovery Cafe of Hamilton County

“Everyone is recovering from something” is the motto of the Recovery Cafe in Fishers. Join our team to provide dinner once a month and spend time getting to know the members. Email Michelle Latty at Michelle.Latty@geistchristian.org for more information.

Changing Footprints Shoe Collection

This year, we're partnering with Changing Footprints to make a difference in the world, one pair of shoes at a time. Whether you have lightly or well-worn shoes or brand new ones you've outgrown, we invite you to drop them off at our designated stations located at both campuses. Any size, any style, any condition—all contributions are welcome! Changing Footprints will ensure that every pair donated will either be given to those in need or responsibly recycled. For more information, visit www.changingfootprints.org.

Dayspring Center Service Opportunity

On the third Monday of every month, Geist Christian Church provides dinner for those living at the Dayspring Center, a community center for homeless families seeking temporary respite. Email Kyle at Kyle.Brown@geistchristian.org to get involved.

Ongoing Food Pantry Support

Throughout the year, Geist Christian Church supports two local food pantries that address food insecurity for people in Hamilton and Marion Counties. Each week bins are available at the Promise Road Campus and Mud Creek Campus to provide ongoing support to the Come to Me Food Pantry and The Sharing Place.
