That’s Not in the Bible: “Everything Happens for a Reason”

There is something inside of us that needs an explanation for why everything happens. The phrase “Everything happens for a reason” puts God on the hook for some of our most unspeakable bad experiences. Everything does happen; what if God endures for us when we cannot? What if God hopes for us when we no longer have hope? What if God gives us grace when we cannot imagine receiving grace?
