Beach Reads: Bad Hair Day – Mud Creek Campus

“Absalom was riding his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great oak. His head caught fast in the oak, and he was left hanging between heaven and earth…” (2 Samuel 18:9b) – Our last Beach Read of the summer finds Absalom, David’s son, hanging from a tree – a most unfortunate predicament. Absalom’s actions and David’s response are but a glimpse into family relationships that are not always worthy of publication. The story will force us to ask how we use forgiveness and reconciliation to break chains of dysfunction and violence?
